And, yes! It is the same Zihuatanejo that Tim Robbins rendezvoused with Morgan Freeman in at the ending of the great 1994 movie “Shawshank Redemption”.

A visit will be good for your soul. It is a soulful, pre-colonial, beautiful historic town with much to see and many smiling faces. A bustling fishing town with much to offer tourists, she also entertains the beach party crowd, complete with parasailing, on the beautiful La Ropa Beach.
Location and Directions
Casa de la Sirena is located in the beachfront community of Troncones, approximately 30 kms. north of Ixtapa / Zihuatanejo.
From the airport, take 200 North through Zihuatanejo heading towards Ixtapa. Follow the signs to Lazaro Cardenas. You will pass through several small villages, Salitrera, Pantla and Buena Vista.
When you approach the 30 K marker, there is a sign that says Troncones is to the left. Take a left and travel approximately .3 K to the beach. At the T, go right and follow the beach road , cross the bridge and look for our Casa de la Sirena welcome sign. It is about 45 minutes from the airport.
