 It is officially our summer season and everything slows way down for us on the beach. It’s warmer now, so everyone walks a little slower, the dogs snooze a bit more and our local tiendas may run out of coffee creamer from time to time. There are a couple of things you can always be sure of in our little part of paradise. Cold beer, great food and the dramatic beachfront view that the Sirena compound offers. Stay with us before October 31st and receive a 25% discount. Even if you book the whole compound! And decide to get married!Book your January stay by November 15th and we will offer a 10% discount. It’s our way of making sure everyone still gets to vacation, therefore bringing a little sunshine to this dreary economic mess! What stress? Here goes:  Take 2 people in love, mix together friends and family, fold in a savvy, full service local wedding planner, pour into a spectacular beachfront compound and sprinkle with flowers, laughter and fun. And, ok. A little tequila can’t hurt. Poof….may the rest of your lives together be so happy and carefree! You may want to make a few more decisions about the most special event of your lives together, but you don’t have to! The Sirena compound is an absolutely perfect venue and don’t let anyone talk you out of having your celebration in Troncones! The small village atmosphere is just amazing……..everyone knows everyone and so everyone will probably know why you are visiting. If you require additional lodging for friends, they can easily be accommodated right up or down the beach at neighboring properties. And, the amazing part is that we have had bride after bride tell us that a week at our compound was actually less expensive than ONE NIGHT for the ceremony and reception venue in the states!  About the same as the wedding recipe! The compound has 9 completely separate suites, so plan on 9 – 18 of
your most adventuresome students and make a run for the border! The small garden suite can be used for a teacher or private chef quarters. The outdoor platform is shaded throughout the day by beautiful indigenous trees, and the sound of the ocean is the only music your class will ever need……..a truly amazing escape! Hire a local cook, explore our fabulous restaurants, bring entertainment in….make it your best retreat ever! The people…
 Humberto has fully recovered from his appendectomy and is busy with Antonio’s help in getting the maintenance projects completed. His warmth and attitude never cease to amaze us and no wonder every single one of our guests becomes his friend. Seriously. Maria just celebrated her 42nd birthday and we gave her the hottest red dress ever to celebrate in. After all these years cleaning at Sirena and being a huge part of our family, she “accidentally” mutters a few words in English now once in a while. Veronica is packing up the gift shop for the season and she and Jesus are doing great. Mike and I are busy bees back in our “real” world…..thankfully!

Summertime in Troncones is quickly approaching. It is the time of year when we welcome our surfer crowd and anxiously await photos from our many guests that choose us to spend family re-unions, yoga retreats, honeymoons and have their weddings at the compound.
Beachfront Weddings – The Sirena compound is a fabulous venue for destination weddings. Whether you choose a simple barefoot on the beach ceremony or a full out formal affair, Casa de la Sirena is the perfect setting for your family and bridal party. Since we do not charge a facility’s fee, it is an affordable alternative to other wedding sites. Lots of our brides have confided that for what they would have paid for the ceremony and reception facilities, they could host family and friends at the Sirena compound for a week! Talk about off to a happy start!
Family Re-Unions are one of our favorite specialty groups. The compound was designed for privacy even in a large group. It has plenty of meeting and gathering places, yet everyone has their own “private island” suite/villa. 2 pools, private beach palapas, lots of lounge chairs and a swim up bar in the main pool offer fun in the sun for everyone.
Yoga Retreats ……the word is out. What a perfect setting for a group. The accommodations are gorgeous and the platform is perfectly shaded by large palm trees. And, when you consider the privacy designed into the compound, how could there be a better location?? And, though restaurants and bars are within easy walking distance, there are none onsite (although we can arrange for a cook) so there is no late night “hooting and hollering” J
Surfing is world re-known in our area. Options include Troncones Point, Manzanillo Point, La Salidita and The Ranch.
Holidays at Casa de la Sirena are the best! Whether you bring all your family , opt for a romantic get-a-way or run away with friends, Christmas in Mexico is so special , easy and stress free. One of our favorite recipes….. Start with some sunshine, stir in the melody of the ocean and long walks on the beach. Add homemade guacamole and chips followed by chili rellanos or garlic shrimp. Head up the beach for a nightcap and plan for more sunshine tomorrow. Repeat. 
The Scoop at the Sirena Compound – Maria, Humberto, Veronica and Antonio are all doing well. Humberto just started working again after an emergency appendectomy on March 25th. His smile says volumes about how he is feeling. The guys are working on cleaning and re-grouting both pools. They are finished with the villa’s private pool and are about a day away from finishing the big pool. Veronica has accepted our nagging and is commuting to Zihuatanejo once a week for computer classes. Antonio’s baby grows about 2 inches a day….hard to believe she is almost one year old. And, Maria took her family on vacation to Acapulco! We are so proud of her. It is the 1st actual vacation she has ever had. The photo is of her and her youngest 2 there….on vacation! She thought the city was too big and noisy (imagine that if you are from Troncones) and that the food was “funny”. Other than that, I think she had a good time!
Calendar – YEA! There is a beautiful full color wall calendar of beach and village life being produced right now. We have some amazingly talented residents and guests that have shared some beautiful photographs. All profits go to a great cause, building a gazebo in the new town zocolo (town square). There are food booths, a bar , and some of the entertainment has included bull riding, dancing horses, cock fights (yes, I know….it’s a cultural thing), traditional folk dancing, bands, mariachis (if you have never seen the real deal mariachis, they are just incredible), locals dancing to all the bands ( a sport in itself! Just ask Linda about her foot…), beauty pageants, clowns, juggling……..I am telling you we have it all! My favorite event is the “Taste of Troncones” held once a week. It is a sampling of almost all of our restaurants here in the village. All events have been so successful and so well organized. We are just really excited to have this venue to look forward to!
